Overhead

An overhead shot is achieved by having the camera directly above the subject, shooting down. An overhead shot taken from a very high vantage point is referred to as a Birds-Eye Overhead.

Overhead Birds-Eye

A Bird's-eye view, also called God's eye view or simply overhead shot, is achieved by having the camera directly above the subject, shooting down. The effect is a higher, detached point of view that can be interpreted as spiritual, divine or simply indifferent. The camera becomes an untouchable witness to the events unfolding.

Overhead Tracking

This technique involves following the subject from an overhead point of view, also known as 'God's angle'. This technique is a staple of director Martin Scorsese.
