Transitions

A transition refers to the way one shot or scene changes to the next. Transitions are essential in creating a seamless and cohesive flow in a film, helping to guide the viewer from one point to another. They can be used for various purposes, such as indicating a change in time, location, or perspective, or to create a specific emotional effect.

Infinite Transition

Instead of one scene transitioning to another, this technique involves transitioning from one scene to another endlessly.

Roll Transition

Using camera movement to “roll” or “rotate” us into another shot seamlessly.

Screen Transition

When a screen is used to transition us from one full-screen setting to another.

Whip Transition

Like a whip pan, but instead of whippig in a direction, it whips to another scene.

Wipe Transition

A transition from one scene to the next. More creative examples of scene wipes have been popularized by artists like A$AP Ferg and Kendrick Lamar
